Forget Independents – President Obama Is Counting On “Ignorents” To Put Him Over The Top

Tad Armstrong

Most pundits suggest that the party who garners the votes of Independents will win the White House come this November. I respectfully disagree.

I cannot believe a so-called Independent could possibly vote for a man who has unashamedly set out to make us all more dependent on government for “every breath we take” (Obamacare), “every move we make and every step we take” (massive over-regulation) – yes, and “every word we say” (the fairness doctrine). Pardon the play on words of the 1983 hit by The Police, but merging the first line of the Star-Spangled Banner with the beginning of the third stanza is a real hoot, to wit: “Oh Say Can’t You See, You Belong to Me.” Oh, c’mon, a little humor doesn’t hurt all that much, does it? If only their name had been “The Police State,” the spoof would have been complete.

I suggest the voting bloc that will decide the most important presidential election in our history will be the Ignorents, a personification of the noun “ignorance” that comes from the Armstrong Dictionary of Political Incorrectness, 2012 edition. President Obama is masterfully counting on a large number of Ignorents remaining so. The key to a Republican victory will be whether they can educate this voting bloc out of ignorance into knowledge.

For example, last Monday President Obama shot a warning to the Supreme Court when he said, referring to their upcoming decision on Obamacare, “I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected congress.”

Let’s examine by starting with the idea that this President wants the Ignorents to believe that Obamacare was passed by a “strong majority.” Now, don’t take offense. There is nothing wrong with being ignorant unless, after being exposed to the light, you insist on remaining in the dark.

So, if you feel you need to gain in knowledge, I ask you to stay focused, look away from that captivating smile in front of the teleprompter, and remember – remember that the then-Democratic led Congress took your tax dollars and exchanged them in back room deals to garner enough votes to pass this mess. Remember that the vote in the House was “219 to 212” and at least one of those “yes” votes (former Democratic Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper) has stated she would have voted “no” had she known this President would show utter contempt for the free exercise of religion as it relates to the implementation of this law. That gets us to “218 to 213.” How many others would have changed their mind had they known this President would assault the bedrock founding principle upon which this nation was founded?

In the Senate, the vote was “60 to 39.” I don’t call 52% (“278 to 252”) a “strong majority,” do you?

The President also wants you to believe that striking down this legislation would be an “unprecedented extraordinary” step for the Supreme Court to take. The President absolutely knows that since 1803, the Supreme Court has struck down numerous congressional acts passed by democratically elected legislators with majorities far stronger than this. Such an event is not by any means unprecedented and certainly not extraordinary. He knowingly lied to you last Monday and he is counting on you to blindly follow.

Media Matters for America say they are dedicated to “correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.” Here is their spin on the President’s reference to an unprecedented extraordinary step: “In fact, the Supreme Court has not struck down a central provision in a landmark federal statute since the 1930s.”

Tell me you won’t fall for such ridiculously slippery words like “central provision” and “landmark.” Such a statement is only true if you believe, for example, that the only line-item veto legislation ever passed by Congress (in 1996) after over at least 100 years of trying was not of the “landmark” variety, for you see, the Supreme Court struck it down in 1998. I wouldn’t have enough space in a boatload of articles to describe the “central provisions” of “landmark” legislation the Court has struck down since the 1930s.

James Madison said it best. “Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.” Please arm yourselves with knowledge, then vote. Otherwise, please stay home. We cannot permit ignorance to prevail this time.

    to whom it may concern
I believe that you are totally correct when it comes to this country being totally ignorant for this president to get reelected. I still pray for this president and that he will turn his heart over to God and bring this country back under God’s control I know God can do it. I believe I know why he got reelected is because people are wanted depending on the government and are not willing to do what is right for this country. I ask you to excuse my wording for what I’m saying is that I believe Satan’s is in control of this president.

    sincerely
    your brother in Christ.
